Spoonie Community support evening
A community support group for people with chronic illness, long covid, burns outs and generally differing and fluctuating energy levels. This will be set up as a space to talk with people who share similar experiences and challenges. Setting up such a space at Moira would allow for the creation of a community in which people are able to support each other, create social connections and also give each other advice based on shared and similar experiences. The discussion would be largely led by those in attendance and based on the needs on the day.
This event is organised for people who suffer from chronic illness, long covid, burn outs or who otherwise have different energy levels and currently don’t have a community-based support structure to discuss shared experiences, challenges and struggles.
Organiser
Romi (they/them): Lives and grew up in Utrecht, is involved with various queer and feminist organising, such as Savannah Bay and 2QTs gender support group. They have been suffering from long covid for over two years and with previous experiences with chronic fatigue, have had to change their life around to deal with the impacts of this illness. They wanted to set up a group in which people who are dealing with similar things could feel less alone.
