My Sweet Child

Documentary screening

My Sweet Child is an exploration of memory, an attempt to make sense of what is left behind. In 2014, AIDS activist and feminist anthropologist Martine de Schutter is killed. Ten years later, her only child attempts to reconstruct their relationship, her life and his loss through film. The documentary is an assembly of archival footage, conversations, pictures and everything that has the texture of memory. A resistance to the inevitable fading and destruction of memories. But above all an intimate, associative portrayal of the connection between mother and child.
