Crip cafe

Open for: D/disabled, chronically ill and questioning community

Description

A community cafe focussing on creating an accessible and safer space for D/disabled, chronically ill and questioning community to be together however, our bodies and minds are most at ease. This will be set up as a  cafe space that people can meet each other or just hang out in a more accessible, low sensory and covid cautious environment. Setting up such a space at Moira would allow for the creation of a community in which people can meet more regularly in a safer and caring environment outside of the house.

Organisers

Romi (they/them): Lives and grew up in Utrecht, is involved with various queer and feminist organising, such as Savannah Bay and 2QTs gender support group. They have been suffering from long covid for over three years and with previous experiences with chronic fatigue, have had to change their life around to deal with the impacts of this illness. They wanted to set up a group in which people who are dealing with similar things could feel less alone.
